What foundation preparation should feel like

VACE Academic Team

Foundation learning should grow curiosity, reasoning, and academic confidence—not create premature pressure.

Build curiosity before competition Students in Classes 6–10 benefit from asking why, experimenting with methods, and seeing connections across Science and Mathematics. Competitive exposure should support that curiosity. Practise useful habits A sustainable routine includes reading questions carefully, explaining reasoning, checking work, and returning to mistakes. These habits are more valuable than an overloaded timetable.
